Cross Tattoos
These days a lot of people decide to get tattoos. Some of the more popular choices for designs are cross tattoos. However, knowing that you want a tattoo of a cross does not mean that your design choice will be easy. There are a wide variety of designs available for those who want to have tattoos of crosses, and you need to carefully consider you choices before making a decision since tattoos are permanent. You want to find just the right cross for you.

Even if you would like just a cross with nothing else in the picture, there are actually 20 different types of crosses to choose between. Some of these crosses are religious in nature and some are not. Many of them look similar, with just the addition of a few lines, but some look quite different than what most people think of as a cross. The Latin cross is what most people probably think of when they think of a cross, but there is also the 3-step cross, anchor cross, Ankh, Aztec cross, Celtic cross, Chinese cross, cross of triumph, crucifix, Crusader's Cross, Gammate cross, Gothic crosses, Greek cross, Maltese Cross, Native- and Mesoamerican cross, resurrection cross, Russian orthodox cross, St. Andrew's cross, and the tau cross.

Once you determine which of the many types of crosses you would like, you need to determine what else you would like in your cross tattoo, if anything. Many times cross tattoos also include things like flowers, skulls, writing such as names and dates in the case of memorial crosses, wings, praying hands, or flames. The options are endless. If you have a good idea of what you would like included in your tattoo it narrows down the options a bit.

You don't need to come up with your own design, you can see if the tattoo artist can do this, or else there are a lot of designs already available that you can choose from. If you do not like the options you see at the place where you are going to get your tattoo, you can try doing a search on the internet. There are a lot of websites where you can look at designs for free to help you figure out which of the cross tattoos available you might like. Sometimes you can pay a small fee to get detailed drawings of the tattoo to help the tattoo artist recreate the design properly.
